Well, first of the last two semesters is completed. We are now to less than 5 months before wedding bells ring in my house. Life is going on.

I have recently found myself enjoying the PURELY simple things in life. Making paper crowns, braiding yarn into belts, making paper flowers. Thus has been my distraction from reality lately.

I have embarked on a scripture journey. My goal is to read through the Bible before I get married; I started that at about 5 and 1/2 months. On top of that I had singled Psalms out to read one a day regardless of what book I was on. Then at 150 days till the wedding, Chaddy asked me if I wanted to read the Psalms together as a countdown. Needless to say, for someone who has always struggled with consistency in Bible reading, this is a growing experience from the Lord, and I appreciate an prayer you can afford.

Wedding stuff has continued. The latest excitement and fun are these cupcake holders!!! (Thanks Lacy for buying your Walmart out of them ;)

Then came the wonderful day when my FIANCE bought me these and had them overnighted! When they arrived, they were not quite ready to bloom, so we were able to watch them they whole process! It was exciting! (Can't you tell!!!!!!!!!!!!!?) Yay for ProFlowers!

I love him!

Okay, now, if I can stop my mushy feelings from overwhelming this post, I'll end on an upbeat note. I'm eating an orange!

Between school, holidays, and the planning beginning for the wedding, life has become something way more busy than it was!

I figured it was time to give you a peek into life right now!

Here's some of the scribblings on the inside

Story time with Bridge!!! (pre-warning: not your normal ring story)

Chad and I were never the normal couple. We had many conversations about many future events, like engagement and wedding, before many would deem it necessary. We had talked about rings, about how I didn't like public proposal stories, the best time for us to get married, etc. That being said, on with the story.

Sunday, October 10 (I think), my grandparents and Chad stayed after church until the church's evening activities. While my parents were away, my grandparent, Chad and I all fell asleep in the living room. Chad tried to get up before I woke up, but that didn't work. Because of that, I was well aware that he went to go talk to my dad that day. With Chad, though, it's not like that really matters; he'd be the one who would make you think it was something when it really wasn't just to throw you off his trail.

That next weekend, Chad had been asked to work out at Camp Barakel. I took that opportunity to spend time with Naomi, a friend out there, and Chad and I planned to spend time with other friends that night when he got off work. 7:30 rolled around and I made plans to meet him by his car. There, we decided it was time to drink our special water (more on that later ;) ). Then I asked about meeting up with Rob and Elizabeth. The response was that he didn't really know where they would be or what they'd be doing. Instead, he asked me to go for a walk.

Up to this point everything has been pretty normal for an evening with us. He decided that we would walk down to the north end of Shear Lake where there is a little bridge (new one I might add, meaning we were going to see it for the first time). We stopped in at the West Side Dining Hall and talked to Phyllis, semi-important detail. While in there I received a text message from Facebook. My mom had updated her status, and I read it aloud. "29 years ago Kevin Salsbury asked me to marry him, and I said yes."

That's when Chad hurried us out the door to head down to the lake. I then noticed just how dark it was outside with it being as cloudy as it was (it was about 8:15-8:30 by now). If you know me, I can get used to being in the not-so-great outdoors when I have to, if you give me about 2 months to get used to it, but when I've not been in it for a while, I'm a scared little girl. To say I didn't like walking on that path would be an understatement. We made it, though, and we didn't get eaten.

This new bridge thing has little railings that were perfect bench size, so, naturally, I sat down. Looking up I noticed the clouds were breaking and BRIGHT stars were showing through. I tried to get Chad to look up, but I could find his hand, because it was in his pocket. That's when I knew, it was coming. Finally I got him to sit down and he pulls out the ring. As he's holding it out to me, the clouds in front of the moon break and he is in the moonlight with the ring all sparkly! I go to hug him and the first words he's said since we got to the bridge are, "would you at least put it on so I don't drop it?"

That's right, I didn't actually get asked any question, but then I laughed, put it on, and asked about 5 of my own questions. "Are you ready for this? Am I ready for this? Can we do this? Are our parents ready for this? AM I READY FOR THIS?" Here I was, thinking I had prepared myself for this moment well enough that I wouldn't freak out, and quite the opposite happened. I inwardly started MAJORLY freaking out!

After sitting and talking for a little bit longer, we decided it was time to start telling people before I went home.

And that's the story.

Let the wedding craziness begin!!!

I now understand. I now understand just how addicting looking at etsy shops can be!
I've been SWAMPED with school and other life happenings, but I'm not apologizing. I'm simply stating the reason why I haven't been on. That and that I don't get tons of time on fast internet. Anyways, I found some time after doing some dreaded keyboarding to glance around on etsy, and this is what I found...

I totally have no need for these wristlets, but they are SO awesome!!

I'm not a huge fan of rings, but these are so small and dainty, just my type

Yeah, so, I think I'm done drooling for a little bit. Next update should be a bit more profitable...

Good day! Started out with a very nutritious breakfast of cold pizza and apple juice. The same breakfast that I've had for the last 3 day :)

I know, I know, not exactly the most healthy. I'm trying to do better tomorrow (and the fact that there is no pizza left won't hurt either).

......and.... TA-DA!!! New hair cut! Not too different, but just enough for a little while here.

And then the most camera shy dog I've found in a very long time! Cookie, my love!

After the morning of delicious breakfast, haircut, and adorable dog, I spent some mommy time in the afternoon! (Sorry, no pictures on this, too lazy.) We started our true mommy/daughter time with a nap at 3 (lasted till 4 but no one is supposed to know, because that's crazy long). Then we made 4 pie crust, one which we filled with the makings for apple pie and then baked! (Yes, many things were exciting to me today!) We had supper then went for walk (that means I get dark chocolate, YIPEE). The rest of the night spent together was cutting out paper leaves with books of the Bible on them. I love the fact that my mother is a teacher at heart so she spends so much time and effort teaching Sunday school class and Wednesday night stuff to the young ones....some day she'll have grandchildren.

So yes, overall, a very good day! Heading to bed now; hopefully I don't fall asleep before I finish reading my Psalm ;)

We'll see what all I get done tomorrow....(still working on stuff for this blog, goodness time is not on my side)

xoxo sleep tight!

We made it home...yes we did!

But before we did, we successfully found Bubble Island!!

and accidentally found GERM!!!!

Then we stopped in Bay City at the mall, then Ponderosa!

So, altogether, GREAT trip, even better drawn out ending to the wonderful trip!

So, we had issues getting directions to Bubble Island, and then didn't make it there, but oh well. Thanking God for our safe journey down. Had some fun times with some relatives of chad's and made it to his aunts house.

But to make up for the no bubble tea, Starbucks is perfectly acceptable..... ;)

And it's been a wonderful relaxing time so far. Filled with many sports (way more than I'd ever watch on my own) Precious Moments, and socializing...

And here we go...this is us...........

It's been raining all day. you know, the type of rain that makes most people kind of edgy and gloomy. Well, following a very cheer yesterday with a sleep in day today, I'm quite chipper. Albeit a bit chilly, but cheerful and joyful. ("The joy of the Lord is my strength!") In a way I feel creative. The kind of creative where first you sit around with a blanket and tea and figure something out to make...then you actually do something.

First I found this DIY here! Why didn't I ever think about this? Well, whatever the reason, picking up yarn next this weekend!

Then following that I tried desperately to learn some new stitches. Took me a bit, but I think I got them ;)

Right before we left to drop my dad off at a meeting then to have a mommy/daughter date, I realized I didn't have a headband to go with my outfit, so I found some ribbon and some elastic and INSTANT HEADBAND!!

Last but not least, Liz from here posted this great idea! LOVE it! Once again, why can I not be this brilliant?!

Tomorrow Chad and I are off on another adventure in Goshen, IN! On the way he gets to try bubble tea for the first time. Hopefully I will have pictures...

If you think of it, be prayin for me. I'm having problems being consistent with my God dates.... <3

Update on 4 Simple Goals

but first, a little story/fact about me.

I have a love/hate relationship with change. I don't like dealing with it when I didn't chose it, but I NEED change way more often than most people. I blame that (and I swear I'm not complaining) on my childhood that was full of change, often. We moved not a huge amount, but more than the average I think...

That being said, habits and I don't usually go in the same sentence. I find it increasingly difficult to create new habits.

To say that I'm struggling with my "simple" goals would suffice, I think. I'd rather say that they haven't become habits, making it difficult.

Extra steps - I do alright with this when I have an excuse to go with someone. (Like forcing Chad to go with me) But Chad isn't with me everyday, so I have work to do here.

Psalm a Day - I thought if I would put it in the morning it would have more success than other reading plans I've tried. So far it has had more success; too bad more success doesn't mean that it's a habit. Still needs work, but I think I may be doing the best at this one!!!

Letter Writing - I lose inspiration when a lack of mail comes my way. I was just reminded tonight by my mother that putting the work into the friendship now may be a Godsend later. Even if it's a lot of work now, down the road those friendships and contacts I've worked at keeping around may blossom into a deeper and better friendship. We'll see if that inspires me any. (I'm doing the WORST on this one)

Mommy Time - This one is hard to rate. We both have pretty busy lives, but mostly, I've been trying to make time to be with my parents/mom, like helping with their large renter house project. With that time, I try to make the conversations matter, and the break times too! Can I just say, I love my parents!

So there you go. Be disappointed in me if you wish. To be honest, this is better than I thought I'd do, but I'm not giving up yet, gotta get better!!!!!

I'm on a dance kick. I get like that every once in a while. I, personally, can't dance, not a lick. I do love watching and wishing that I could though. I'm also lovin on these

I found this little booklet at Jo-Ann's. SO in love!

Some day I hope to be creatively original and unique, until then, I'll stick to my patterns...! <3

I totally shouldn't be awake, but here I am, typing away.
I feel terrible that my last bazillion posts have been pictures with no real explanation and no look into my life. This comes from the awful fact of dial-up which for the sake of not complaining I do not wish to expand upon. Suffice to say, I will be overjoyed when Frontier, our phone service, offers us high speed capabilities.
What I do have to say about the time that I've spent the last couple weeks, is that it's been productive. I've been knitting and crocheting…and be on the lookout for some exciting news soon hopefully!
For this night, that's going to have to wrap it up, I wish you all well, and I'm off to dream land!
